Our traditional - and popular - five day seminars on PV 101 are taught at community colleges and conference centers all over the United States, as well as at our permanent class facility in Bakersfield, CA.
We have an outstanding expert to student ratio: 1 to 10. We have an instructor and at least one technician for all seminars. They lecture, work with individual students, and tag team on activities and installations. With many hand-on activities over five days, participants get plenty of time to interact directly with the instructors and to help each other.

PV Entry Level
Traditional learning works well for students who need to be in a distraction-free environment:
- Do you need to be away from your business / family / daily routine to be able to focus and learn?
- Do you relish constant interaction with the instructor, enjoying ongoing questions and relevant story telling?
- Do you learn best when your studies are focused and intense?
- Do you learn best when hearing, rather than reading?
- Can you absorb a lot of information quickly?
If so, Traditional learning will be great for you!
We cover three days of theory - broken up by hands on activities that reinforce learning - before starting the installation practice. The final two days of class are devoted to building out three different solar systems using different modules, roof types, racking components, and inverters.
An in-depth reference manual is supplied, and you are welcome as well to use our online library of reference materials and resources.
No prior solar knowledge is required. However, for students in the Traditional seminars daily attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion. For additional information, including the syllabus, pricing, and enrollment forms, please see the sidebar on the Sign Up page.
If you have concerns about the five day time commitment, consider instead our Blended seminar on PV 101 which combines online learning with two days of hands on practice.
Traditional 5-Day Course Cost:
$1950 for 5 days of classes, instruction, reference book.
$2100 for instruction, book, and including NABCEP entry level exam fee. Please note, successful students can pay this fee at a later time, according to their own needs / wishes.
